Houndstoothin'

 So I'm finally on Christmas vacation, which means I can actually relax and have time to myself. I haven't dressed up in a while, so the arrival of new clothing helped trigger some inspiration.

This skirt I got is slowly becoming one of my favorites as not only is it an awesome houndstooth pattern; but it's a thick cotton blend that's perfect for winter. I'm usually sporting a skirt or dress no matter what the weather is like so this skirt will be worn plenty.

Along with the skirt  got an amazing pair of cat eyes. I've been dying to get a pair of bedazzled sunglasses and these are the best I've seen (that I can actually buy/afford). I have a tendency to scratch the lenses of my sunglasses fairly quickly so hopefully this pair doesn't see this fate. 

I'm also rocking a new hairstyle :)

School Beginnings

Hello all!

With summer over and now living in my new house for school, trying to get back to a new but familiar school routine has been stressful. A new curriculum and more work hours makes it hard to find time to relax (even though i've only been here for 8 days). I have been trying to dress up when I can however.

I tried taking pictures of my first day of school outfit the morning before I left but then came to discover that my camera failed to focus (grrrr). I did take my first full week of school outfit though! Does that count?

A 60s Valentine's Day

Oh, Valentine's Day... I have a love/hate relationship with the holiday. The vast amount of red roses and baby breath (I have a strong hatred towards this flower combination) makes me want to vomit and I'd rather not be reminded of not having a Valentine since the 7th grade. Though I will admit, the romance is cute and there's chocolate involved which is always awesome.


This year, along with a couple of previous years, I decided to dress to fit the theme. I had a 1960s dress that I had yet to wear since I bought it and Valentine's Day seemed like the perfect day to debut it!

The dress was purchased from Etsy and I swear, it feels like it's brand new. Accordingly, I paired it with cute heart tights that I got from Target.

To go along with the 1960s dress, I styled my hair in a half-up bouffant (I swear it looked bigger in person) and paired it with a dramatic cat eye.

Oh Monday, Monday

There's always something about Mondays. Whether you're in school, working, or on vacation, it's the one day of the week that you'd rather spend under your covers in bed. Though I spent some of my day doing exactly that (shh), I put on my one of my favorite dresses and ran some errands for the remainder of it (actual productivity hooray!).

The dress I'm wearing is a 1940s Girl Scout uniform that I found at vintage store. Finding vintage clothing in person that fits me perfectly is quite a challenge for me due to the abundance of smaller sizes and my not so small proportions. So you can imagine my excitement when I tried this on and it fit! I could really wear this dress everyday if I could.

The Go-To Outfit

Everyone has one. That outfit you put together in a hurry or when you have absolutely nothing else to wear. It makes repeated appearances and has become some sort of uniform for you. It's versatile, it fits, it's your go-to outfit! In my case, my go-to outfit would have to be this dress I bought on Etsy, a cardigan from Nordstrom, and a belt (I tend to switch it up) from Forever 21.

The shoes I'm wearing are slowly becoming a part of my go-to attire. I got them recently online and they literally go well with everything in my closet.

And what's a go-to outfit without a go-to hairstyle? I usually brush my previously rolled hair out and roll my bangs in this fashion:

Hello! (again)

Hello lovelies!

 As some of you may remember, I had a blog under the name of RedLipsandCorsets. I shortly stopped blogging due to many factors (being too busy, lack of inspiration, etc). Lets fast forward months later. I began to pick up some interest in the blogging world again, catching up on my favorite blogs and such and decided that I wanted to start fresh. I re-vamped EVERYTHING. This was in mirror of my growth with the vintage lifestyle and because my old blog was quite cringe worthy.

So now I'm back and intend to keep blogging for the long run! I hope to spark some interest in readers as well as to connect with some of you vintage obsessed darlings as well! It'll also be fun to look back and see how much I've progressed and learned through blogging. All and all, please enjoy my new blog (I promise more *pazazz* in my next posts haha) and don't be shy and say hello!
